My racing instincts are growing by the day. 100KMPH is an ordinary attainment and I wish to do 500KMPH in the near future....mind you.........on two/Four Wheels I'm speaking of!

After the accident in my SWIFT on June 5, 2011
Thursday, November 25, 2010
Ever since I bought my Swift, 2 and 1/2 years ago, to be precise, I've been breaching the 150kmph mark. It was out of the showroom just then and as a fully laden car of 5 full grown adults, I showed my eyes the 165kmph mark on the speedo. With their hearts on their mouths, my in laws requested that the throttle be released a bit.
Journeys long and the ones that are short, the vehicle has covered 37k Kms.Today, as I was driving back from office, with 5 people onboard, and the wiper blades matching the speedo needles extremes to keep the rain darts at bay, I did 120kmph. The roads were glossy black, the trucks sprayed a fine mist as the Swift whizzed past them. The 30km stretch was not so scary, but I cared for the people onboard, lest they puke their hearts out of fear seeing the car squeeze past a tight truck n bus line up at 100+ speeds.
As we returned from Madurai, 2 trips ago, the car clocked a full 165kmph with 5 on board and it was pouting cats on dogs on the national highways. The reflectors sustained the visibility which was otherwise limited to not more than 2 bonnets ahead.
I would reduce my speeds, ya, sooner than later

After a gap of nearly a year. Hibernating.........my sleeping writer was! Rip van Winkle like, but he woke cos of the sound of the displaced wind from a Yamaha FZ16.
Common guys, I had to call it as a BABY WITH A MUSH. I had beaten it black n blue with my 4 year old Honda Unicorn.
I want speed, more and more. Sort of a serendipity it was............that the bike drinks less of fuel when I'm riding under 60KMPH. It returned an amazing mileage of 62KMPL.
But my wrists started asking more of the bike's ear to twist. Heart said no. Eyes said, lets behold the beauty of 3 digit speeds.
I had to show them eventually as a crazy SKODA driver did a slalom before me near Guindy; ensued the Tom and Jerry race with me, Jerry, emerging the uncrowned winner
Wanna get some bike stunts of mine posted in this blog. Will let u know

120KMPH rides with my wife
Its been quite a while since I last blogged. Been too busy blogging on COGNIZANT's official blog site. Couldn take time off for my passionate penning moments after getting married to my passion ROOPA.
Well, people said that I wouldn dare speeding my bike/car after my wedding. Things haven't changed much as far as my racing instincts are concerned.
A helmet for Roopa means that she is safe and that she is insulated from the din that stems from the ferocious flow of air along the ear lobes when the bike slices wind at 120 road knots(KMPH I meant). It also means that she knows that I know that her words of caution for me to slow down and stick to that sub 100 speeds drown cos of the lack of bridge between the helmet that she wears and mine.
Riding all the way to Mahindra City from Tambaram, dropping my wife there and then travelling back to Tambaram enroute Thoraipakkam/Siruseri means 83 KMs in 1hr 40 mins through traffic with the first 60km stretch taking just around 55 minutes of flying on the road experience through laden lorries and cars that drive at bumper to bumper space in between.
Macho males astride their Pulsars, CBZ Xtremes, who wouldn dare to cross 100kmph within city limits, try hard to regain their pole position which was stripped off from them at BIKE point (my bike is my knife and I love robbing pole positions from fellow riders). They wouldn want their ego being beaten out of shape in front of the pillion who happens to be a female :)

May 8th might be taken as the single misplaced cue out of Gregory XIII's immutable effort in carving the CALENDAR that we all follow!
Flying like a sparrow, I darted past the traffic that was bursting at its seems....Thiruvanmiyur held hands with the TECHNOLOGY TENT called TIDAL PARK and was stretching along the OMR road............The clock ticked more silently that than the LOUD WHISPERS of the wind that flowed along the lines of the Cap that I was wearing......
Helmet? I have two of em but an avid biker always prefers HEAVEN and not hell while on the move.So I thought that it would be a better idea to shelve the Helmet coz it had HEL in it (u need brains to think so, until you barter it with devil's wisdom and am in no mood to enter into an enterprise with him!)
Video games! Yea I like playing them often! LIVE..................not in front of the monitors with the joystick operation. For me whipping my horse through stranded traffic and choked bylanes were the hobbies of the hour, since time was ever born! (now.................PRIDE GOETH BEFORE THE FALL)
That Speedo needle showed 100 KMPH on the dials of the BLUE COlor HONDA Unicorn and there was the RED CARPET WELCOME (black color summer shower-drenched Old Mahabalipuram Road) urging me to touch that 120 KmPh speeds that I do between Trichy and Bangalore!
But boy,the vehicles were pulling at 70-80km speed and my effortless cruise weaved me through them all UNTIL, I had to point the handlebar to my left to get my bike past TATA Indica that denied me space to squeeze through. The road was slippery and as a matter of caution I maintained a "SAFE" 110kmph than the adrenaline-ordered 120kmph speed.
Wham...........my cap was still secure and that ADIDAS bag covering my back covered me every alternate roll on the road and through the riding goggles I saw my bike scraping past that mildly drenched road and it produced sparks...................sparks that I used to see when that household knife was pressed against the revolving grindstone for sharpening!
Dragged for one tenth of a kilometer and I rise up like a Phoenix.............back from ashes.......loose skin dangling from my right hand.My trousers shed some skin and my perfect formal setting metamorphoses into a symbolic illustration for a RICHES TO RAGS STORY!
My UNICORN, my faithful pal......have I hurt you dear...I cry for my bike that I love so dearly, coz of its TOUGH TO CRACK qualities that lasted beyond the 9 accidents in 2 years and 3 days. This was its 10th accident.
At the hospital, I laugh and tell the nurses that I can take them for a ride at 100kmph to show them how to escape without broken bones. The skin was severed from my palm coz it failed to be a skin anymore than the pulp out of the sugarcane juice machine!
The next morning I was seen riding my friend's bike, covering 80 km distance without skin cover over the most important joints.
I called my friend and was heard talking thus................"PULSAR takes a very long time to touch 100KMPH;Only after I crossed the Tidel Park it touched the 100kmph mark despite going full throttle.Let my UNI come back from its HOSPITAL!"

They Clipped this FLYING BIRDIE ON THE BIKE
SShhhhhhhhh.Don tell mom that I was caught the third consecutive time for flying.............that too in three days............that too flying on the roads that had little space................that too with SPEED GUNs trying to shoot you neck and crop!
Please...........don tell that the Policeman showed me the SPEED Gun reading at 105KMPH and that I deserved the slapping of a hefty fine.
Hey da! Life's boring. What else did thrill me other than this. Why everyone is against that only thing that gives me pleasure? Oh no! From Dad to mom to sister to friends to and till the law everything is against me riding fast.
I love lying down full stretch and doing that mad speed! I like doing 80kmph and then standing on the Bike and stretching out my hands-TITANIC style (nay never a girl with me to stretch her hands like Kate was doing with Dicaprio and then the great ship sunk-I do it alone coz I don want 2 sink anyway hehehehe!!!!)
The Wheelie? Wow that single wheel stuff brings the goosebumps and all this.............................WITHOUT THE HELMET....................... I FEEL LIKE Iam CLOSER TO HEAVEN when I do so.
Iam a live ROAD RUNNER show!!!!

7:10 am; Misty morning; Having drunk deep on the intoxicant branded ‘SLEEP’, my hangover period prevailed. After a short shower, dabbing the deo, grabbing the mobile to place a request on the Driver’s ears, I find that the vehicle is already on the move.
“Arun, be my pillion; help me catch my cab and then bring my bike back”, I told my room mate!
”So shall it be”, poor Arun agreed.
Like the Medieval Maverick, Don Quixote, I rode the bike, weaving through the, signal stalled, Old Madras road, trying to catch a glimpse of the elusive 9263, Tempo Traveller with ‘TESCO’ sticker on it. Tailgate-Honk-stare the slow moving riders to death and get the speedo needle embedded at the 100 KMPH mark were my commands to my faithful Bucephallus (remember Alexander’s horse?) The Cab ………my Cab!
Near Pai layout and I realize that the cab is already across the horizon. So I head home to drop my trustworthy pal, who was still frozen under the cold chills that massaged him with brutal force as our HONDA UNICORN was sailing at 105-110 KMPH (just at 7:55 the traffic is easy from NGEF to the entrance to Pai layout-my favorite stretch for trying Max Biaggi’s stunts)
Again weaving through the piling traffic and knitting hatred in the minds of fellow riders, I reached home and dropped Arun.
As I embarked on my journey to TESCO HSC, astride the Uni, I heard Arun yell, ”I saw God, I was closer to heaven”………..I asked, “Do you want me to drop you there?
Oh my 9263, tomorrow, I shall be positively on. WAIT FOR MEEEEEEEE!

Near MG Road @ Bangalore. The pedal was smooth and invited to be floored.First gear and the forward force was too much.........whiplashing and weaving through the freshly fired bullet strings of vehicles that proceeded from the signal on.It turned numb.......I had to get it back to the 1st and 2nd gear for pick up.Am not satisfied.."Gimme a car that cooks a TSUNAMI at the slightest touch of the throttle".
SWIFT.........at my hometown Trichy. My car,the 800,was bathing under the jet showers at the service center."Can it (SWIFT) go fast........faster than the GETZ?".The rep's ego was hurt."Test and tell me sir";the keys swapped hands. The Karur Bye Pass Road. The car was grippy. The music was whipping a frenzy within me. The Speedo needle called on the 3 figure mark.I wasn't satisfied.I saw a Bus shooting straight at me coz I was overtaking a Scorpio. The rep had his eyes wide shut..........140 KMPH and a fully locked steering toward the left. The Kudamurutti Railway station to the left, the bank of River Cauvery to the right and an oncoming Behemoth that wouldn't stop for a freakish fellow behind the wheel.I stepped on the Brake pedal.....WOwwwwwwwwwwwwww what a thrill. The rep said that he was still alive and it was amazing.
I long to ride faster.Am fresh from a 110KMPH ride on my HONDA UNICORN.........Can anyone lend me a DUCATI or a KAWASAKI NINJA or atleast a FORMULA 1 car?
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm if wishes were horses, IIIIIIIIIIIII could ride;-)
